Kristi Karr-Gates is a third-generation equestrian whose foundation in horsemanship was shaped by a family deeply rooted in the sport. Her father was a working cowboy, while her mother competed successfully in hunter/jumper and dressage, giving Kristi a broad and well-rounded equestrian education from an early age.

With a genuine passion for teaching, Kristi is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and love of equestrian sport with both her clients and her family. She remains committed to professional growth, regularly participating in clinics and instruction with respected national trainers to ensure her program reflects current, correct training practices.

Over the course of her career, Kristi has earned numerous state and national championships, along with accolades for herself, her clients, and her family’s Welsh pony breeding program.

Kristi’s vision for Gates Equestrian is to cultivate a supportive and thriving environment where adults and select junior riders can develop correct fundamentals, confidence, and a lasting passion for the sport.
